Helping Hands: A letter from our COO

By Andy Olivares

To the Lakeview team,

Four years into my time at Lakeview, I am grateful for the people who make this place what it is. Our Waterford facility is home to a long term acute care hospital, an inpatient rehabilitation unit that opened in 2023, and a community-based residential program. Across that continuum, your work changes lives.

The path has not always been easy. Together, we have persevered through COVID-19, staffing shortages and financial hurdles. Through it all, you have continued to show up for our patients, residents and one another.

I think of an LTACH patient whose needs were beyond what other facilities could manage. With the care and persistence of our team, that patient regained strength and mobility and moved to a less intensive setting. Progress like that is built one day, one decision and one helping hand at a time.

In inpatient rehabilitation, therapists and nurses work together to craft personalized plans that turn a patient's goals into daily progress. In our residential program, staff help residents live with dignity, purpose and opportunities for a fulfilling life.

Thank you to every role at Lakeview. Whether you provide bedside care, keep our spaces safe, prepare meals, coordinate services or support the work behind the scenes, you are part of these outcomes. I am proud to work alongside you, and grateful for everything you give to the people we serve.

Andy Olivares, President & Chief Operating Officer
