Sebago Place
"A home supporting adolescent growth"

Sebago Place is located in North Sebago, Maine. This program was developed with support and direction from the Maine State Department of Health and Human Services, whose goal is to provide a residential setting for Maine adolescents requiring transitional services. The program is a holistic approach to child-centered care, emphasizing positive growth through emotional development, enhanced behavioral self-management and attainment of functional living skills.

Sebago Place, serves adolescents ages 11-15 with cognitive and/or behavioral disorders. This community based program provides services to those adolescents who have successfully completed a more restrictive program. The 4400 square foot ranch style home features spacious living areas conducive to individual and group activities, a large garage with workshop, secure in-ground pool and a small cottage nestled in the woods just north of Nason's Beach in Sebago. The program is licensed for ten students who will attend local or specialized school programs.

Sebago Place provides 24 hours/day staffing with a full time psychiatric nurse administrator who oversees paraprofessional staff, clinical plans, and home management. A social worker provides clinical support for both individual and small groups with oversight by a psychologist. The student and family/guardian in conjunction with the treatment team and the school, address the specific needs of each individual. The plan incorporates educational/vocational productivity, recreation/leisure and social reintegration goals. The skills acquired at Sebago will assist students in achieving a successful reintegration to their homes and/or therapeutic foster care and community.

Sebago Place is part of the Lakeview Healthcare System and is licensed by the State of Maine as a Residential Childcare Facility. Lakeview NeuroRehabilitation Center in Effingham Falls, NH provides oversight of the program and is CARF & JCAHO accredited.
