Dianne Schwarz, New York Healthcare Leader, Joins Lakeview as VP of Operations

Lakeview is pleased to announce that Dianne Schwarz is now our Vice President of Operations for the Northeast Region. Ms. Schwarz served New York State as a consultant in all special population issues including clinical, fiscal and governmental matters on behalf of the Department of Health Commissioner and his staff for the past 19 years. In this role, Ms. Schwarz clinically and fiscally oversaw 7,000+ individuals with specialized care needs including traumatic brain injury, neurobehavioral/neuropsychiatric disorders, as well as infants and adults with ventilator care needs. She completed hundreds of onsite reviews of care and assessed the service delivery models in New York for gaps and needs. She facilitated the knowledge and understanding of national specialty programs to New York State executive staff in multiple state agencies including the Department of Health, The Office of Mental Health, and The Office of People with Developmental Disabilities and The Office of Medicaid Management. She identified unmet needs, and planned various systems approaches to meeting emergent needs for the citizens of New York State including drafting regulations, negotiating clinical program content and participating in openings of new programs and services. She was a partner with many agencies and state leaders. Among these partnerships was one with TBI & Home and Community Based waivers designing and implementing a pathway for over 2,000 individuals to return to New York State from out of state placements. She has served on several executive state committees including PASRR, a federal program from CMS to evaluate the appropriateness of individuals for nursing home placement, and has served as a member of the Board of Directors for ACBIS, a national brain injury certification agency.
Ms. Schwarz is currently an adjunct professor at Empire State College Distance Learning Program where she teaches international students in the Social Science Division. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University with a BS in Occupational Therapy and a graduate of The College of Saint Rose with a Master of Science in Education with specialization in Cognitive Disorders. She is internationally certified in Sensory Integration, The McCarron Dial Vocational Evaluation System and is a paralegal in New York State.
